Description
This mosaic is a Navajo-Churro sheep skull from Bide A Wee Farm where beautiful, happy sheep are humanly raised for wool and meat (I visited just after the birthing season and dozens of lambs running and jumping is a wonderful sight. Google Navajo-Churro to see these beautiful animals and learn about the history of this incredible breed.). I like to think my skull mosaics honor the spirit of the animal.
This one includes hand-cut black and white glass tesserae, a bit of stain to bring out the texture of the horns, sinew wrap, a leather bottom, and a touch of black paint.White Sheep just spent a month showing at the Sequoia Art Gallery in Hillsboro, Oregon.
If you live outside of the US and are interested, message me and I can find out costs for shipping. It seems to vary wildly by country.
