Mosaic Art Creations
It’s not a decent excuse for not having a current project, but being snowed in always seems to spark ideas…
I realize that parts of the country need a reprieve from winter, and it may sound selfish to wish for it just because I want it, but come on winter, Oregon wants some white stuff and my creative juices need a “blanket of white injection.”
Sometimes you get a chance to be a part of something amazing. My first mosaic teacher and friend, Lynn Adamo, has done several community art projects that I have have the joy of being a small part of, and it has always left me feeling great about any little bit I was able to contribute.

So far I have contributed 5 hearts – the four below and one other I sent before I realized this mosaic will include 1200, yes, 1200 hearts made by artists, students, and community members, and of course, Jennifer, who is a brilliant and inspired artist.
I also hope to help install when the time comes, and play the “where are my hearts” game. 1200 hearts. All dedicated to diversity and love. I am all in!
So yeah the weather is unpredictable, but the smells on our walks are astoundingly sweet. Blooms everywhere. New plants for my yard. Hints of warm weather coming soon. And the Hillsboro Rotary club raffle is starting. Scholarships, support for the domestic violence resource center and people doing good for others. Hey spring, glad you are here.
Let’s see how intuitive the new site is – I think I found where to make new posts (the last one was put on the site by my site builder for me) so I am going to test and see if I figured it out.
Spring is all about new beginnings and this new site feels like a great way and time to honor the spring spirits. I have a project that has been sitting 3/4’s of the way done for some time, maybe this will also encourage it’s completion, since I can use it to practice updating the site.
I am so stinking excited. What a difference it makes using a professional – Tisha Oehmen of Paradux Media has given my mosaic website a completely fresh and new platform. I could not be more pleased. The fact that Scott Palmer of Bag&Baggage recommended her spoke volumes to me, but feeling heard when explaining what I was looking for was the greatest joy in the process.
